I haul off FairOaks in Indianna.

35,000 cows. Automation running the 11 barns like you can't believe.

    70 tankers a day .

My old business partners dad owned a dairy farm in Minnesota back in the 80s.

He had enough after 10 years sold the cows and burned down the farm so he never repeated that mistake.

He could have left the cows to my neighbor. Then I'd have a few more cows mooo-ing me to sleep at night when I'm home.

The Industrial Revolution changed the way we do things a great deal. We stopped doing things naturally and started becoming slaves to time. Before the revolution we went to work whenever we woke up, not when the alarm clock woke us up.

Kind of unrelated but I find it interesting, before the Revolution, we didn't sleep a full 8 hours. We would sleep some time when the sun went down, most people, and then we would wake up in the middle of the night. Usually people would eat, talk, have sex or the like. Guys would go outside and chop wood, women would hem/sow. We never went far from home at night, usually just within lantern light. We would be awake 1-3 hours, then we would go back to sleep. It was common/natural up until the Revolution. Then we would wake up after the sun has already been up and mosey on in to whatever job we were doing.

So if you wake up at a lot at night, just know you are only doing what we have been doing by normal routine for thousands of years. I cant remember the name but we had a name for our awake midnight hours we spent outside chopping wood with a bit of peace and quiet.

So sad. My Dad is a crop farmer and is really struggling. My Mom is always stressed about it and wants him to quit but he won’t. One of those deals..

We don't drink milk like we used to in this country. Per captia consumption is down 75% from 1970.

It still makes for a gratifying beverage as long as you are not drinking it with FJ pizza.

They say there will always be milk but no small farms just large monster farms with thousands of cows. I have a CDL which provides other options if need be. Driving otr is not likely in my plans. My boss claims he is at least 5 drivers short so at least for now their is work. There is also several boneheads within the company that would be out of work before me.

For the time being I'll do exactly what the farms do, keep on truckn.

Btw one of my other farms said the farmer that committed suicide had two prized show cows that he really cared about deeply. The bank told him they had to go because they were on the farm. Why????? Let the man have some dignity left. Would it hurt the bank that much? I guess loosing his show cows pushed him over the edge. Those ### clowns have his blood partially on their hands.

Hauling milk is not a perfect job, but I enjoy it. I consider these people my friends. I care about what happens to them, but I have no control of it.

It's sad when your own sister seems to think milk is bad for humans. I told her the 4 year college she went to is a higher institution of brainwashing. She didn't like that and I don't care. Truth.

In my own household my kids drink lots of milk, we buy butter (not that margarine crap), ice cream and real cheese. Support what's left of farming before it's gone.

I love driving truck but I also love the feeling of parking it in the yard at the end of the day and going home.
