Been driving for 6+ years (only). I did 11 months OTR regional in the beginning, since then have been home every night! Company truck - no repair bills - no fuel charges. Salary so no need for miles.
Mikeeeshortlid Thanks this. -
You should consider the job and not where it goes. What type of benefits would direct me towards a job or not. Not just what you see now but what could help you in the long run. I retired early because I planned my retirement when I first started to drive. You might not have the chance to put away some cash right now but plan 5 years from now. I believe that benefits should be the number one factor in job planning.
RedRover, Tonythetruckerdude, Chinatown and 2 others Thank this. -

Why did you leave? Also if I remember right you live just north of me in ME. I know a lot of the food service companies are hiring up in our area for local PFG, Sysco, US Foods, etc... Be careful with regional. It's hard choosing a decent company that makes it worth being out even 5 days.
