Same amount as up north. Up north you can drive a mixer for $18/hr plenty of places same as here. Get on with crh Oldcastle driving a mixer here and they start right around$30/hr. I drive a non union coke truck now and I make $28/hr so I'm making the same money as ups freight, and, etc. Right to work is a scare tactic for both sides but honestly it really doesn't affect anything, I've been on both sides of it and seen no difference but then again I won't jump on a #### job and I value my time.

Yeah I’m super picky about my jobs since I got a couple years in now.

That’s good to know though. If you believed all you read on here you’d think every driver made 10 an hour in Florida.

I just like Union because you KNOW what you’re getting paid etc.

I retired from a union job and actually get treated better where I'm at now. I have no regrets about my years at UPS but I am actually happier now at a non union job. I wouldn't have thought that to be possible in a million years but it happened. I do like the having a contract aspect of thing like you said just so you know what to expect.

Yeah I mean the place I left was union too. But the company hated the union and just saw us as costing them more money than we had to and we were just there to haul mud.

At my current place they love the union and it’s a small company. They donate all their old equipment to the various unions for training and see it as a weight off their shoulders since the union handles all the pay and benefits. They just go by the contract and it’s easy.
