Ya, lots of non hazmat hauls, but, they want us all to be trained up on all the trailers and materials....which i dig

cdltest dot com I use for testing...costs 11 to 20 for the tests, just memorize all the actuall questions...I believe its a 50 question test with 75 possible questions, they feed em all to ya, easy easy...

If you dont smoke, insurance is like half of what i pay, instead of 29 a check (weekly direct deposit) its 19...
I picked the low deductable 80/20, i got short term dis, long term dis, teledoc, dental, vision, life, and matching 401k, i think its the full boat...

Paid for delays and Inspections..I think Im getting 3 bucks for each pre and post trip inspection too..

6 days a week, i get 12 loads at hundred each, usually another 200 in inspection and delay pay (waiting on truck etc etc)....making 1400 to 1500, taking home 1100...

They run, its not, "hey come in at 4" its "come on in after you get your 10"

Anyways, ya, get er done come in...Id say get the training and see where you wanna land, then let 'cisco' (head dispatcher) know...I thought Id want the run cement in a blower, but i liked this live bottom haul so much i never requested anything else...I mean, theyre gonna put ya where they need ya at first, but options eventually come..right now, i wanna be left alone with the gig I got...I love being on the mine sites and in these big industrial places, breaks up the shift etc etc..

Glad I was able to share...Hopefully its a favor to you and the company !!

The flatbedders are usually hauling anodes, so hazmat for that as the copper anodes have a RQ of aresenic, thus the haz requirement

Awesome. I'll do some studying all day today. This sounds like just what I need. I was getting depressed looking at all the cheap wages down there. That sounds like such a cool job. I see they have sleeper trucks also, I would like to stay local but would be more than willing to run overnight loads or out for a few days if I had to.

Ya, dood..def a hook up saving you a ton of time

I believe everyone goes home everyday...BUT, there is a group of guys who DO run like OTR style, AND there are guys who have the option to do what they want..

For example, you might get a cement haul thats 3 hours away in Joe City Arizona, you'll only have time for 2 loads up there, 100 bucks each, then you drive home..YOU CAN stay up there, run more loads if you want!! Yup, guys will stay and get 3 or 4 loads a day, make more, stay at the days-inn up there for free, all you gotta do is ask and you can stay up there...For example Bagdad Az, the biggest copper mine, guys running in and out of there all day long, some drive back to the yard, some stay, your option...
Your paid for loaded only on most gigs..so everyone is chasin the magic 10 hours so it figures out to 20 bucks an hour...Bagdad is a company town, The mine owns all the stores, houses, apartments, hotels....Its a trip
Anyway, your comin home everyday unless you dont want to..
I dont want to stay out, but i like having the option!!

Just found out Im not running tonight, the mine doing inventory or something, no problem here, I dont have a boner to run 6 days a week!!

Ya man, pass the written, then they should pick you up, even before the TSA background check clears..

Im excited, the worst truck is 684...Its a 05 kenny, steering is tight, pads are new, a/c stereo and cb work, headlights suck nutz, interior dusty dirty, 800 billion miles..

200 a night, i didnt mind...only was in it one night, 3 weeks into my own gig i ended up in a new truck...all the tanker guys run new petes...

They will train you on any trailer, like it or not, so..Dont be afraid to ask for tankers, 250 a night, a cool easy fun run, only downside, heavy suit up for loading and unloading (sulfuric acid)...
Me I wanted to be an everything guy, lots of guys there are not
So I got trained on all of thier trailers, Not all the materials tho..Havent done fly ash or lime yet, not in a hurry either, I love this copper haul im on..I can do trip one in 5 hours, trip 2 takes me 6 as i get tired real easy and stop for snacks and sodas etc etc..

Your training and where you end up first will go by what they need on the day they turn you solo, so far, all the runs seem cool and do-able, you'll find your happy groove Im sure...
    -lots of work
    -great people
    -decent pay
    -ok equipment
    -awesome benefits
Your HR connect Debbie or Brooke usually
Terminal Boss Dave, super cool, mello, x driver
His boss Daryl Seton, super cool, super mello, x driver

Request Dan Herbster for training, the best guy there to learn blower trailer, not sure sure about the other younger faster trainers...
Dan will make you learn the whats and whys...youll understand the plumbing so you can figure out all the rest of the trailers by your self...Not just teach you when to pull the lever..
I trained with a doubles blower guy for 3 days, didnt learn anything new, Dan already had me understanding, blow down valve, fluffers or air assist, product valves etc etc..

Dan couldnt tell me the last time he plugged up anywhere, his method is slow and safe...a 40 minute unload for cement

The doubles guy doesnt want to work, Chris L...He has an easy run that has him out 6 hours then he goes home...So a wide range of stuff man..

Im behind on life bills, i need to run, not gonna complain about 60 to 70 hours for quite sometime..

Not sure what the office is like tommorow (holiday), give em a ring or a visit!! Make your presence known

Your trusted and not bothered, its a mans company..boys and dipshts dont make it in often..

On your test, if you dont know an answer, press skip, youll get a different question, and that other one usually wont come back!! (they dont tell you that)

The taliban has posted all the hazmat questions on youtube as well...theres creepy taliban music playing in the back ground while mvd's screen is filmed during the test..scary yes..might as well pass your test dood, right?
You have common sense, food and poisons dont get hauled together, duh
Youll learn and know the important stuff, just get er done!

Anyways, beer kickin in pretty good, gonna play some poker and get hammered...cheers yo

Ya, the tanker gig seems really cool..meaning, they all have new trucks, newish trailers...Them guys stay clean, not ever dirty, and they get top pay out of everyone...Them guys all haul butt,,,them small tankers (130bbl?) or less, aint nothing for weight, so them guys are whippin them around like its thier dik everywhere...Im usually in thier way as they load where i unload, so im forced to driver faster than i want to in this one area so i dont have 7 of them on my tail,,,I believe they arent allowed to pass or something..
I think they are 3800 gallon maybe...(the easy ones) you dont even know its back there..like no risk of tipping over
I ran em in North Dakota..pretty cool
Sulfuric acid is made by the same copper folks, if you didnt know..
Also, Arsarco has resigned with us today for another 2 years, so no changes coming for the copper/acid drivers, good news...I got this run down, dont wanna learn a new one unless they ask, happy with 1st assignment

Theres a whole nother Chemical division, all chems and hazmats, wastes etc etc...I know nothing about it, or them..LOL

Saw some crazy lookin tankers roll in last week with generators and stuff hanging off them everywhere, have no clue about them, lol...(mobile supersuckers maybe?)
heck i dont know...Been here a few months and havent yet inventoried the whole place..

Some guys run doubles belly trailers to the border, drop em loaded, grab unloadeds and bring em back, thats all

Just a crazy range of driving gigs...Ive seen cattle haulers, doubles flatbed trailers (hay?), roll off trailers that hold 3 roll off dumpsters...Have no clue bout them doods either

Just cool seeing that If i hate what im doing, i can make a lateral move within the company

If you want more money, your gonna have to run an excavator/backhoe...Theres some excavator/lowboy/dumptruck jobs around that pay better if your an operator as well
