Location for the night

We had to make our own while in the field, that's what your e-tool is for.

They always gave us 1 day of recovery before the return flight. After 30 days of MREs, for some reason, around 6 hrs after the first mess hall meal, every one was headed to the latrines at once. Back then, it was 2 rows of toilet seats, all on one bench. Each side had like 50 seats, with around 10 inches of seperation between.

Ah fun times, thanx for the memories.

 

Columbia, NJ welcome center. Just got a visit from my wife and daughter. It was awesome. Definitely a surprise since we're technically separated and plus Columbia is nowhere near our house. Anyway it was awesome. Wish I had other good things to report but I feel like I'm getting burnt out. We are down to 33 drivers from 55 and things seem to just keep getting worse at IP. I'll be on days this week which I'm not particularly happy about but maybe some NJ sunlight will do me some good.

 

Sounds like an fellow driver or former driver. To know what landing gear is and to even notice and care enough to tell you. I'm convinced that 98% of the courtesy I receive from four wheelers is because they are either drivers themselves or have one in the family. 4" is kinda close though. I hope you knew your route.

Well, howdy all...

Just got home to begin three weeks truck-free. She's in the shop getting her accident damage repaired while I'm off. Oldest daughter gets married Saturday in western NC, then we're back home for a few days before flying west to visit my family. The plan is to return to work July 5th or 6th. I'm really hoping to hit the lottery before then! But in the absence of that, I'll have exactly six months left on my lease upon returning to work.

Been a pretty good few weeks running south. I just couldn't take any more of the crap that passes for roads in PA. Pulling a lot of lightweight stuff with decent rates. I've been making what I aim to make without breaking 500 miles a day, so no complaints.

Truck has been behaving...replaced the right steer tire last week at 159k miles of usage. Getting a bit thin on one edge, down to 6/32, so it was time. Other one got replaced a few months back.
