What should have been an easy day was made very difficult by my trainee starting his clock an hour early. FMSCA will interpret this as drivers will be able to continue doing the same amount of work with just a 13 hour clock.

 

Home. Obetz is overpopulated with loaded trailers. And about 40 used tractors teady to be sold.

 

West Memphis OC. Truck mitght get in the shop tonight to get an ABS issue fixed. Or it might not. We'll see. I've gotta remember to start calling ahead about these things...

I should've stayed home.

But somebody has to parade my pretty truck around.

I'm heading to Holiday city OhiO

 

At Obetz OC. Show up at Millwood for my "preloaded" trailer and the guy tells me 7 hours. Taking my 10 plus detention pay at Obetz before I go back in tomorrow morning.

Got to see an interesting Schneider driver today. Westbound I-270 ramp to Alum Creek Drive, some woman Schneider driver in a dress ran over the makeshift construction guardrail/jersey wall, tore the #### out of the side skirt, then ran over the guardrail with the trailer tandems.

Looked like she was trying to pull off of it, so I decided to stop behind her, threw on the hazards, and was going to help. Go around the passenger side to look at the tandems and she totally demolished the two outer rims and shredded the tires.

At that point I just turned around, got back in my truck and took off. I wasn't about to give her any directions that was going to lead to even more destruction.

About two hours later she rolls into Obetz. Apparently, the goodyear guy came out and the cops were there. If she pulled it off herself without a wrecker the police weren't going to cite her for obstructing the roadway. Goodyear guy directed her off apparently. Another driver was talking to her and she stated "she had no where else to go because of the ramp traffic". Umm, with the damage that that trailer had she had to hit the guardrail at least 20-25 mph minimum.

Ignore the 2 hrs only tow at ownrs expense sign?
