    Looks like a driver without a job. Never try to beat a train. Hopefully nobody got hurt.

    unless the timing of the gates was off that much, this was one ####### driver. There is a several second delay from the time the gates reach bottom position and when a train rolls through the crossing.

    How do we know he tried to beat the train, any chance he got stuck on the tracks?

    from a pic I saw doesn't look it. Tandems cleared train hit it in a spot to shear the the door frame with the doors still in the latched close position. Hard to tell but it appeared somewhat that the combo was angled as if he dodged the gates. Again not really a good angle.

    From my knowledge of the crossing since I live in houston is this..it possibly looks like he stop at the light but there is not enough room after the tracks for a trk/trl stop sit there..he needed to stop before the tracks for the light...

    Something similar near me up in Delaware Oh, but it becomes a driver awareness issue. Estimating how much space is available .

    Around the corner from me they added another light before the tracks that operates independently of the intersection light .
