looking at log sheet, you also must show your 30 min. break.
DVIR ....ya dont need to mark each item unless there is a problem.

that tire would have looked the same during a pre trip or a post trip. that's just your typical cap failure. every morning I will check the tires and lights, as well as looking underneath engine for the fluid leaks. that's pretty much the only thing that will not be the same after 10 hours past post trip. so I do a thourough post-trip checking everything and then just get those things in the morning for I roll out

Although you would think it should be in there, after reading 396.11 (Driver vehicle inspection report(s).) and doing a search of all regulations for the terms "odometer" or "mileage", nothing comes up specifically requiring it. Therefore, IMHO, if the regulations do not state it has to be there, then it would appear to be optional.

So, yes, your idea of photocopying a DVIR 365 times should work. :biggrin_255:

That's a company thing. Usually the log ends up in safety and the DVIR ends up in the shop records. The shop probably uses that to help keep up with maintenance. That's the first I've heard of someone putting mileage on a DVIR. But DOT required? No.

You only need to put the mileage if going to Canada.
