log book problems

    Wait a minute... you're logging on-duty time to shower and eat??? WHAT?? That's all line 1. You don't log showers and eating time as on-duty. That's just...well, stupid.

    Rule number one: never log anything you don't have to log and especially don't log anything that takes up your valuable hours of service if you don't gotta log it! You get paid to drive, not to shower. Maximize the mount of line 3 time and minimize line 4. You don't get paid for line 4.

    I would tend to agree with 500 Maximize drive time and the rest is sleeper Line 2.
    Dont be wasting time on line 4 if you dont have to. Fuel,Loading,Unloading,and post trips is about all I ever use line 4 and nothing over 1/4 hour (15 minutes) and I have never had any problems with audits, DOT, or my saftey manager.
