Im sorry for asking. And please no rude comments. But I have a few questions about log books.
How are the 14 hours counted? Does that include driving time? Off duty time? On duty time?
And how are the 70 hours counted? Whats included in the 70 hours?
Sorry for asking!

Ok there are 4 clocks you need to worry about.
1. 70 hour clock: - 70 hours on/duty and driving (lines 3 and 4) total, in an 8 day period.
2. 14 hour window. It's just that a window. Cannot drive after 14 hours of coming on duty.
3. 11 hour clock - Max drive time in that 14 hour window.
4. 8 hour clock. You cannot drive after being on-duty for 8 hours, without taking a 30 minute break.
There are exemptions to those, but keep to those times and you will never have a violation. -
The moment you drop to line 3 or 4 your 14 hour clock starts. You drop to line 4 at 6am, at 8pm your 14 hour clock stops. Now if you drive 11 hours in that 14 hours, your clock stops at 11 drive hours or 14 hour whichever comes first.

Yeah trucking schools are all about money money money. No disrespect to the OP.
But that knowledge should be ingrained in your brain before they hand you a graduation certificate.12 ga Thanks this. -
So none of you EVER heard of the HOS in your driving schools?
-
No need for the schools now days to teach them anything about log books because there will be a computer "ELOGS" telling them everything they need to know. Nothing against the OP but this is the kind of people that the Megas want.
gentleroger and Longarm Thank this. -
