The quoted example was for solo, for less than 10 months work.
Teams are making way more. I never heard about those expenses.
After filing the taxes the monthly cash available was 5k.
If 5k it's not enough to live in Canada, I don't know what to say anymore.
But I can understand why TuSimple got 2 billion US dollars to play with.
We are going extinct and toward UBI at highway speed.
Log book shenanigans

I drive dedicated 2600 miles in 5 days and home everyday weekends off. Never even leaving the province. Paid percentage which works out to $1.06 a mile, no benefits however.Last edited: Jun 7, 2022

Other than upnorth I would dismiss some of the posts as bragging. Unfortunately sometimes Truckers boast about hours per month and earnings. Billy big rig. Are you making those wages as a Company driver or O/O? OTR or local? Private fleet or freight hauling. Gravel ,cement, grain ,logging dry van or flatdeck? Lastly: How many of these dream jobs exist?
Another Canadian driver, Prairie Trucker and '88K100 Thank this. -
Im sure many New Canadian drivers spend plenty of time waiting for backhauls out of GTA. Be like 30 years ago TRANSX guys be moaning over the airwaves,,"sitting 3 days for load to Winnipeg"...
When applying for job know they have freight and can keep you moving, getting turned in GTA or West Coast is a big deal unless you want to keep getting sent south of the border.Another Canadian driver and Magoo1968 Thank this. -

Honestly I have been pretty happy with Gardewine over the last few months. The miles are there and they have a huge customer base. The only ####ty part is pension doesn't kick in until after 2 years. On the other hand, Manitoulin is now paying hourly, $30 for singles.Another Canadian driver and '88K100 Thank this.
