just a quickie. while in AZ. I got pulled into a training scale in a rest stop. the YOUNG rookie says son pull your thing into the scale. axle scales at that. I laughed and looked at the obviously older officer and he chuckles the kid goes whats so funny I explain tha I am old enough to be his dadddy and that if there was a way for me to pull INTO his scale I would. He got hot and gave the other guy a nasty look. the old guy walks over and says and I quote " Sir would you please pull forward so that we may weigh your truck correctly." I said sure lets do this. older turns to rookie and says "Attitude can make your day or His" just a thought.

 

Did you not start saying this "I got pulled into a training scale " ? And then say this " if there was a way for me to pull INTO his scale I would. " ?

That doesn't sound too "friendly" to me.........

 

maybe not as friendly as you would like, but a friend will tell you the honest truth and not pull any punches. there's good and bad everything. some cops ought not be cops, and i've worked with a few and they are a pain in the backside. most times even other cops hate being around them.

it's the same with drivers. i still think most guys are their own worst enemies, and talk themselves into jail or a ticket and that's the truth. yeah, some cops are out to get the world but your remedy in still in court.

look at some of the replies here. i don't know about you, but i never took well to threats and acted accordingly. you figure out what that means.

look.......... FRIENDLY O.K.? just be calm and keep your wits about you. pay attention to what's going on so you can explain it to a judge later, or, if you feel it necessary, for a letter to the officers superiors. at any rate, make sure you act with some intelligence. i wish the best for all of you, but some of the responsibility for that rests with how you act.

 

JUST FOR HUMOR and DOT...When I was with my trainer in the beginning we were running as a team... he never updated his log book, which means my log book was wrong too! I hated this crap, pulled into a scale we got the red light, I am about to crap my pants.... geez our log books are 3 days off!!! Am sweating. DOT jumps on my step and asks for my log book, I hand to him and started praying that I could afford the tickets I am about to get. Then he starts laughing.... then explains that my trainer and him are fishing buddies and knows his log is never up-to-date and we wanted to make the rookie nervous. DOT handed my log book and said update the log.

 

yeah and youll get the federal marshals called on you too. There is nothing you cant inspect such as air buzzer, etc from the ground and standing on the running board. You dont believe me just try me
