Sounds like the Company I use to work for. If you log your fuel stops right good chance no Violations ever. But then again, they charged me 600.00 for fuel I did not get, once also..

This is the biggest dispute with the on board electronic logs...if that truck moves just enough to make the GPS change locations of nearest reporting point, according to the computer and GPS locator, the driver was driving and the log should show Line 3.
When I was with Swift, at the main terminal, (address is Phoenix, AZ) parked in the parking lot in front of the main building...the GPS would show Phoenix, however move forward 20 feet, and cross the drain undulation, now the GPS will show Tolleson, AZ. I guess this is another "Catch 22" we as drivers must deal with. -
Other, many of the larger companies list the primary terminal as EVERYONES home terminal. You may park your truck at one closer to where you live, but you are still assigned to the primary hub. I know FFE is this way, but anyways my "home terminal" is still the "primary terminal" as well which still leads to the problem of the time discrepancy I had an issue with.
otherhalftw Thanks this. -
Then the only thing I can think of about the 2 hour difference, could be the truck stop had a computer delay in sending the information, or the terminal had a delay receiving the info...or the satellite was playing "hide and go seek" with the info...you do realize that even NASA has a sense of humor!

by your explanation i should never sign my log because its never true and correct because it's a POS "EOBR". Its not even onboard. I might write a letter to my safety guys about the timezones and several other things though.
I also signed my log before i started the log when i ran paper logs. But not for the reason you stated. I did it so i didnt forget.
Also i had a few level 3s and the DOT never told me i could not do that. Including one officer who took over an hour to look at my logs ...with a ruler. She wasnt going to let me get away with ANYTHING...
Haha. here at werner, f you park at the pilot next door to the dallas terminal, it shows you're in the terminal (log shows location as "WERNER - DALLAS, TX"). I park my truck at the flying J in benton harbor. Usually my log shows that im in Fair Plain, MI (which isnt even a city, but a neighborhood that used to have a school district...), but last time i was home, i put myself on line 1 at the stop light on the eastbound exit ramp, and it logged me as being in "BENTON HARBOR, MI"...which is actually more accurate. didnt log me as having entere fair plain either. I dunno why
But anyway ive had times where getting out of the truck is enough to move the antenna enough to show that i drove into a different city....and got logged on line 3...otherhalftw Thanks this. -
Another case of "mood vs job responsibility", mood wins majority of the time I think!

Face it, the computers are right even when they're wrong yall. I had this arguement with our safety people for half an hour in which they told me I was wrong repeatedly and that the computers are "flawless". I have worked with computers in every job I have had, there is no such thing as "flawless" with them.
That aside other I do appreciate your input on the FMCSA rules, as well as your logic to what the problem in the situation might be. I only wish that the pencil neck idiots in the offices would have the same outlook.otherhalftw Thanks this. -
The reason the fuel doesnt always match is because when you buy fuel, at times it isn't processed immediately. Especially in the busy times, it goes into a "Q" they call it and is processed when the computer finds the time to do it. All this came up a few years ago when they put in the terminals at the pumps. My company changed their policy from matching fuel from 15 minutes to 1 hour

At Werner, all we had to do was send a message to logs and they would correct the error. They were good about fixing these problems and unless you were in a questionable situation, you didn't need to provide verbose justification. Many times they could see the error as soon as you brought it up. Of course that doesn't help real truckers who have to keep paper logs but that's my story and I'm stickin to it.

Had the same problem also, only we follow eastern time.Best thing we found to work is the satalite clocks you can get for 9.99 at family dollar. So far so good since we got it.
