on 12/12 you drove 524mi in 10 hours
i am going to go out on a limb here and say, the first 24mi was to and from the highway, so that leaves 500mi
lets say 1hr for that 24, and 7.25 on the highway, you drove in 10hrs what i would have done in 8.25 (max) probably closer to 7.5
you spent anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5hrs longer than I would have, and you were drudging on the highway, that alone would have tired me out mentally
my mental state is just as important, if not moreso, than my fuel mileage (mine is basically 6.5mpg on average) i know if i drove at 62mph, i would probably get 7.5, but money aside, its not worth it to me

what i find interesting is that last week, i bumped my 70 (first time in about a year) and to be honest, i was MENTALLY exhausted and couldnt wait to go home, i dont know if i am getting older or just out of shape
but i was truly mentally tired after 70hrs (actually more, if you understand) -
When the fuel bonus add 3 to 4 cents to all your miles for the month. Its sure is pretty
-
so for 524 miles (i am not even going to venture what the dispatched miles are) you made $209 plus a possible 18.34
the difference between $209 or $227.34 for the day, if you use my example, at an extra 2hrs you made $9/hr.
God bless you, manWest coast trucker and volvodriver01 Thank this. -
I get paid by the week. I'm getting 2267 miles for the load I'm on now. I was paid 842 miles for Vernon to Ogden. That should =3109 miles for the week. Unless of course I get a short haul before Wednesday cut off which I'm not counting on. Those 2 short loads went on this coming weeks pay check. So it really doesn't matter how fast I got here because it wouldn't have done anything for me. I could of drove even slower. But the speed I choose to drive got me here just in time so I can have my 34 restart done with early and I can get on to my last stop.
Logs don't make a driver. A driver makes the logs work for him. Super trucking 101 -

7-UP Thanks this. -
Bakersfield to Vernon to Ogden is EXACTLY 842 miles, which is good
most mileage folks get paid less than actual
