None of these programs are offered for a Mac. I use a Macbook Pro, but what I did was download Parallels. If you have Windows installed on a boot camp partition, Parallels will allow you to access Windows programs from OS X, and I must admit for being such a desperate micky mouse work around it performs rather well.

Even if you don't have Windows on a boot camp partition, you can install a small Windows installation within Parallels and do the same thing.

I have Eclipse logbook in my dock and it looks like any other OS X application. When I click on it it takes a minute but will open right on my desktop, I do my logbook entry and close it

You buy the full version of DDl 95.00 and you get access to all the print modules which supports almost all formats used by companies. Unlimited reactivation, updates, etc. If you have to install it on a new computer or get your computer repaired and they replace the Motherboard then you get 3 re-installs. After that you would have to purchase the program again.
I've been using it so long it has worn out 5 laptops....But I also can't remember the last time I had a logbook infraction.

Ya, unfortunately for Mac users the trucking software selection is limited similarly to most other programs due to the limited customer base. However I have been curious how it does on Parallels and you have confirmed that. Thanks!

Eclipse is expanding to Android and iPhone. I am not sure how compatible that iPhone/iPad apps to on other Apple-made devices (i.e. Macs.) Perhaps that will be the ticket though?

DDL user for about 11 years and the need to purchase new license averages out to way under the value I place on use of it. I would not run for a company that does not accept the printed logs. There is no print module for my current companies scanning system, but they accept the basic print modules print outs, thank goodness!

I just got a notice from Foglines who publishes Trucknpro software www.trucknpro.com. They apparently just came out with their own version a logbook program that is part of their accounting program. I didn't get a chance to look at the entire presentation, but it looks pretty good.

They are just reselling the Eclipse Software log book program. You can go to http://www.logbook.com/default.aspx To download a trial.

I looked at this a while back, the thing I could not find out is how they handle updates to the program.

I have downloaded the free trial of Eclipse and it looks interesting. I do have a few questions. Will the DOT accpet it if you do not have a printed copy available? Do you carry a printer in the truck to handle the printing or wait until you get home? Isn't your log book supposed to be current to 4 hours? Thanks
