Accidents and moving violations are what affect a driver in future jobs. DOT violations and Scale tickets go on your record and cost you money, some companies (lol) may use this in hiring decesions in future.
-
You re lucky you did not get put OOS for not having or maintaining previous 7 day logs too

I've had log book violations, is it common to get a Dollar ticket with it. I have never been given a money ticket with any log book or other csa violation. Curious.

It just depends on the mood of the officer and a few factors. Examples, how far were you behind on logbook since last change of duty status? Does tolls, fuel, etc. match your logs? I ve had a DOT Officer call to a Pilot before to verify the time stamp on a CAT scale ticket before

If I had a dollar for every log book volition I've received ... I would be a dollar richer.
MJ1657, WildTiger1990, Bob Dobalina and 1 other person Thank this. -
What if the company uses E-logs. How does the cop or DOT check then? Just scroll through the screen? or is it wise to use a log book along with the E-log?
They taught us log books at our CDL school, I just need to go over again the sheet that keeps track of hours. -
Lightside Thanks this.

I would go to court. That fine is way too high. Most judges are pretty understanding and a trucker with $1,000 in is wallet is unheard of. I'm guessing he will knock it down to a parking ticket, not reported and $100 fine instead
