Im on the clock, We used a time sheet to keep track of miles,state,city/towns i drove to,...and an inspection sheet to show the daily vi's. Now the company wants us to start using log books, im not worried about the log book usage. I just think its waist of time lol, i guess it will depend on how my day goes, DOT guy might get a look at it might not :)

You are still required to fill out and maintain a DVIR to show you did a Pre-trip...

If you ran outside that 100 Air mile radius and then ran local...You are required to fill out and maintain logs for 14 days IIRC...

Not sure how it is now but with the old handwritten logs you didn't have to fill out that pretrip inspection on the back of your log until the end of your shift. There was no requirement to show a pretrip, other than 15 minutes at the start of your shift, which I think that was mostly a company requirement because I never filled out the back of my log until I parked for the night or day whichever the case was. It used to say right on the inspection report not to fill it out until the end of your shift. That's how PTL's ELogs are set up-you don't have to show a pretrip but you do have to show a post trip.

Ding, Ding, Ding Survey says #1 answer.

Fill that comic book at the end of your shift back at the office.

What I was getting to was, a PTI check list with start and end times of the shift for each day...
That's what I used when I ran my dumps....
