God yes. I learned sooo much more at TMC's orientation than I did cdl school. Even with everything thats been going on, I still truely believe that TMC is a great company to work for. I think whats going on is a mixture of being new, another test to see if we really wanna work here, and just the job itself. Its like folks have said, its not just a job, its a lifestyle.

As for the slack adjuster adjustments, Im pretty sure I remember being told that we are NOT mechanics. Also, I think TMC is pretty good at taking care of their equipment.

true; that the difference between the drivers from yesterday & today. me, being from yesterday will adjust the brake to get going, instead of having to wait on a service truck etc.

Thanks for the posts and the questions. As for cleaning the truck while on reset, not really because I clean it everyday. No, really. Everyday. It has to stay pretty!! There are many Peterbilts out there, but this one is MINE!! lol.
Aa for home time, you dont have to request it, its supposed to be given every weekend.
For road service, I was a Cat certified master technician for 24 years. Really. I will gladly mechanic on something to get rolling. All I was saying is they dont want you "messing" with their trucks. Thats fine with me. Im being paid to drive, not mechanic.

Yeah they are very peculiar about their trucks. No customizing (making it your own) and no wrench turning. Was told when I got mine if anything ever needed to be worked on call road service or macro 19 lol.

Blind I got one also. I was told I would get a rental car so i went ahead and got the cooler. I also have a membership to Sam's. Stocked up on water and powerade! I measured that closet and the fridges I wanted at just a little to big! To lonely, I appreciate the years of experience you have on us and what you went through in the old days. I truly would love to turn a wrench and learn all that I can. Unfortunately we started in a different time and era then you and driving is all they want from us.

Let me throw another tip out there. I bought 2 one gallon jugs of drinking water, the cheapest wally world had. 87 cents I believe. Anywho, when your at home, fill the jugs with tap water from your kitchen sink. Bottled water is cool, but why pay for water? I also carry a metal sports water bottle and fill it up at every rest area and anywhers that has a water fountain. Just a thought. The powdered drink mixes are very good too. Wel ome back Law Dog!!
