I dont like being/feeling this way. Its not my nature to complaing and be upset. I knew as a rookie I would have alot to learn. This just doesnt feel right. Maybe I should cut my losses and run? I know this much, I have no desire to go to Nebraska.

blind, i think you should change dispatchers. dispatchers are known to blantantly LIE, along with his/her performance on getting u loads, keeping u pre-planned, getting u home, etc. i know ur extremely frustrated & u have every right to be but don't let that idiot dispatcher get to u, remember they are behind the desk cause they can't cut it out here on the road. find u another dispatcher & keep changing dispatchers til u get 1

Guess you figured that one out fast. First rule of trucking. If a company has a bad reputation, they probably deserve it. Don't get discouraged. Be patient, DO YOUR HOMEWORK and you will eventually find a good job. But it takes work. Don't be lazy. This career is just like any other, you can move up or stay at the drive through. There are many of us out here making 60k+ with good companies and there are guys with 15 years experience driving for SWIFT. You have to decide. Two things though. One, your trainer seemed to like parking on ramps. Bad idea. He may have told you its necessary. ########! In 12 years, I parked on a ramp once. I was a rookie. I didn't like it. Two. The left lane is for dummies who have time to stop and eat, crap, take a nap whatever while you are imprisoned in a slow ### truck. Don't buy the crap the coolie carriers sell you. The only person who gains from a slow truck, is the guy buying the fuel. Good luck.

You're on paper. Here's a hint, something I do from time to time if I have to....

I've been stuck in Atlanta traffic. It takes a long time to not move very far. And, seeing as you're in one city, you don't have to log it. So, what I do is write down the time I first get stuck, and I document the time I start rolling. Then I take some "time off" in that city...Not the entire time, but enough to save me an hour or so....

Points well taken guys. Ive tried to "fire" my fm. It didnt work. As for the left lane, I can only run as fast as this truck will go. I have done my "homework." I studied and worried for two years before I took the plunge. I dont wanna quit
But I dont wanna keep on like this. Its not my nature to fail, and this is killing me. Ive always been the best at whatever I did. Now, I feel like everyday Ive failed. Thats tough feeling guys. Ive always been real strong at time management and scheduling. You cant be a successful soldier without it. I believe in my heart that whats going on is not my doing, I also believe that its intentional. Thats just my opinion.. Oh I also believe that no matter who you drive for, they're all gonna lie to get you behind the steering wheel.

I`m not talking down to you or trying to belittle you.

First. You made a choice with TMC. My advice now that youre here is to stick with it for 1 year. First it gives you the experience you need to move on if you choose, second is that after 1 year it gets easier...yes it does. your time maagement skills as well as loading and unloading gets easier. you will become better at moving around country with less trip planning. going to same shippers/recievers also helps after time. It will get better no matter where you are. don`t job hop now. Unless it becomes damaging to your mental and physical health, deal with it for 1 year.

Second, sometimes you will have to sacrifice some sleep to get caught up. Delays happen. TQM will help shed some light for you. When it comes to hours and sleep, trucking is not fair at times.

You seem like a good guy, obviously your former trainer isn`t helping you now. ill answer any questions i can to help, just pm me if you wish, and ill see if i can help with your hours

I agree with loco. Blind I have read your threads going back to before you started school. You were all over these forums. The way I see it you wanted TMC badly and you accomplished the goal you set for yourself. Thats not always easy to do, and you know that more than anyone with your background. TMC has prehired me and reading all this s### is making me nervous as hell. I'm thinking of going somewhere easier!! Having said all that reading through your post have made me believe. You have to do whats best for you, but if you dont want to seem full of s###, then hang in. Im not trying to start anything im just sayin. You have made me confident that I can do this, and um only 34, so for that.... Thanks dog!!!!

sounds like they are trying to push you out, but maybe not becouse the trainer i had would stay out for 4 weeks some times and he had kids and fam so i caint believe it was his choice but i could be wrong, we had two logs and both tarped and loaded the whole time i was with him and i have to say it took both our books to get there on time, oh yea maybe one shower a week. im just saying if two drove just to get there on time how could one and we werent supose to running teams from day two. so that being said dont be to hard on yourself its prob your fm and when all els fails go aroundthem , you gave them a chance to fix things and got nothing now go higher...

Blind dog i agree with ex88m same thing happend to me at tmc it,s like they set you up run hard just to see what you will do and how you take the pressure. me i quit, not that i couldn't take it. i have a large family and took the job thinking they would get me home on weekends, maybe if i stayed they would have done that . looking back wish i would have stayed there abit longer to find out . however there were good local company's still willing to hire me after i quit tmc .
