Blind Dog, its good of you to keep things updated. I always remembered TMC saying home most weekends, but I always knew a weekend is home Saturday afternoon or night and then you have to leave out Sunday afternoon or night. When I was there most of my weekends were the shorter ones. Had a few home Friday afternoon but that is rare.
Hope things get better for you. Stick it out if you can, I wish I did. Its hard to find a local tractor trailer job with little experience.

Ok. Update. My "new" trailer lights are shorted. Called road repair and was told to go to sapps to have it looked at. I went there, their "mechanic" looked at it and said he couldnt do anything for me. So road repair sent me to jim hawk trailer repair, where Im waiting for them to "work me in." This load was supposed to be a "quick load." I probably wont be able to deliver today. On the bright side, I bought 3 pairs of blue jean shorts at sapps for $6.99 each. So, I will keep yall posted on my trailer "adventure."
Oh, somebody asked where in Nebraska I delivered. It was IPSCO, in Geneva. Now Im in council bluffs. I never realised it go sooooo freakin hot here. -

Next time when your lights short out on your trailer, to go look at all the marker lights and see if any of them have a splice. It has happened to me before where that splice was just taped and the tape came off the wire and was grounding out. Now I always have a pair of wire strippers and electrical connectors.

I know the first 6 to 8 months that you going to be here will suck. Just stick with it and it will pay off. Where do you have to go in south dakota
-
Why does it suck and what gets better? Serious question.

Pretty much anywhere ill be the same, they just want to see if you have the ability to deal with the stress of the job so they're going to make it as stressful as they possibly can just to see if you ever are put into that situation what's going to happen. You also won't make as much money to for 6 months just because they're not going to give the best loads to the newest drivers. Yep to put some time in before you can start getting the better pain loads im be home a little bit earlier on the weekends. I don't with it believe me my for 6 months suck

Sorry for the grammar and spelling errors my phone is a pain
