Hey guy, I loaded in Calvert City, Ky. Right around Paducah area.
Ive run as hard today as my truck would carry me. Ive been sitting here in Rockford Il for 3 hours waiting to get unloaded. Im untarped, load unsecured, and sitting right where they told me to sit. Havent even touched me yet. If they dont hurry, I'll run out of hours again.

You will probably pick up in rockford or deforest wi. Insulation. You have truckstops both north and south.

Blind Dog, do you have any regrets with going with TMC? I'm on day 3 at the truck driving academy and really am enjoying it so far even though this first week is all classroom, the instructors are down to earth and are experienced OTR drivers, they are not "text book" instructors so to speak. Plus there is only 4 people per class so that makes learning and question asking even better. On Monday (the first day of class) a Werner Enterprise rep came in, I have to say that I was not impressed with his "spill". I can see where a 20 yr old might have been ready to sign on the dotted line for this company after his glorious speech but with my 42 years in the real world makes it a bit easier to smell a rat. Don't get me wrong, I realize these reps' jobs are to make the company they represent look like the best, and with the size of Werner they obviously know how to keep a trucking business going. I just got the impression that they are looking for a warm body to put behind the wheel. A TMC rep was suppossed to come in on Tuesday but was unable to make it. I really hope I have the opportunity to talk to one in person while I'm in training because I really am interested in driving for TMC, I consider myself to be much more than a warm body holding a steering wheel and would be happy to give 100% to a company that would treat me as such.

Hey Doug, do I regret TMC? No. Even though Im having a tougher time than I ever thought I would, I still think TMC is a stand up company. I dont think anybodys out to get me. I dont think that at all. I just think I wasnt prepared to come out here and roll. I blame alot of my learning curve on my driver trainer, as I spent most of my time with him running teams. My advice to any new driver is DO NOT RUN TEAMS!!! I think you will learn more of your only running on one logbook, instead of two. Also, turn that stupid gps off, and learn to plan your route with a map. Speaking of maps, if anybody didnt know, I stop at all state welcome centers, and they will give you a free state map. Alot of times the state map is more detailed than the atlas, especially with the small, po-dunk towns. Theres more to this job than throwing straps and holding a steering wheel. I trained soldiers in the Army for 12+ years. I would definitely train my new drivers differently than I was trained.

My trainer was an owner operator So there wasn't a whole lot of running a team. I did however get to actually drive the speed limit Whether it was 60 or 70 didn't matter I got to drive it.

    Blind Dog Thanks this.

i got it now, blind you can save some of your time and not run out all the time if you did not stop at all the stateline welcome centers for maps. before you get all mad you knoow that was funnie. LOL that same map you are loking at on paper is the exact same map them GPS devices have that you hate so much, you just have to know how to use it, not just turn it on and go where it says. i know you are still laughing so let me ask was that you at the VA,NC center today on I95. if not they must have figured out the map thing as well ..LOL LOL

Alright funny guy. No, it wasnt me. Im in Indiana at the Ohio line. I deliver 15 minutes away in the morn, so Im shut down for the night. I left Rockford and bounced to Chi town for a load of owens corning shingles. I deliver to Bryan, Oh in the morning. Menards dc is 10 minutes away??? Maybe a load from there???
Its the close of business on Thursday, you already know I aint gonna make it home tomorrow. My fm is taking tomorrow off. How much do you wanna bet I dont get home this weekend? Im not gonna get spun up just yet, I'll wait until.I send my empty macro and see where Im sent. If I hear 1 more time" theres no loads going south" I swear I think I will move up north!! Anyhow easy day. Easy pace. I forced my fm to dispatch to me by not sending my empty message until this am. I was empty yesterday at 2000 hours. I sat all night on the empty macro, and it felt goooooood to send it at 0700!!

I enjoy picking up at owens corning in chicago. Usually pretty quick it loading an easy to secure. In all honesty You should be able to make it home this weekend. Within 150 miles from you there's probably about a dozen places that I've loaded at. All sorts of different places you should be able to get home
