One driver lives in a town that is 8 miles from where the trailer and terminal are.
They took the truck home and were stopped on the way to the terminal to get the trailer by the DOT.
They were not logging it as driving and were using it under personal conveyence rules as off duty on the log.
Issued a log book violation for not logging for the return to the terminal under driving. It was shown as off duty.
They lost when they went to court.
This is just one of a couple that I have encountered.
I do not agree with the ticket being issued. I believe it was wrong.
