You can bet you last dollar I will log off duty, the above (#2) means
if you are doing the work yourself.

    (6) Again doing it yourself or if remaining in attendance upon a disabled
vehicle it means on side the road or something of the sort, not sitting
in a lounge at the shop. That time can be logged off duty.

Time repairing refers to someone working on their own truck. Obtaining assistance, or remaining in attendance upon a disabled commercial motor vehicle is for waiting and watching the tow truck hook up and take you to a shop. You only have to log 15 minutes checking into a shop, then go off duty. Time in a drivers lounge or motel doesn't have to be logged on duty. You can go shopping at Walmart for 10 hours and it's considered off duty, not driving. Every company I ever worked for does daily log audits and have never found a violation for logging off duty at a shop.

Lol, every 14 hrs you have to tell the mechanic to stop for 10 hrs, you need a break.

Note above post I made before reading page 2, oops.

    As taken from>>>http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regu.../fmcsrruletext.aspx?chunkkey=090163348002396e

§395.3 Maximum driving time for property-carrying vehicles. Subject to the exceptions and exemptions in §395.1:
    (a) No motor carrier shall permit or require any driver used by it to drive a property-carrying commercial motor vehicle, nor shall any such driver drive a property-carrying commercial motor vehicle:
(a)(1) More than 11 cumulative hours following 10 consecutive hours off-duty
It doesn't say where you are to take them off. Now should you be well rested before driving again? Yes I think you should
This is ONE reason doing log books is a waste of time. You could be out jogging, quading,XXXing with your wife (or other) for 10 hours then jump back in the truck & away you go.
