I have just been offered a local gig with a contractor starting next Monday.....
Running under 14 and under a 100 mile radius.
Has anyone ever done this before?
IIRC....We have to maintain logs for 14 days after coming off of OTR correct?

Just a time card, as long as you stay within the 100 mile radius. Did a gig like that for a while. No need for you to retain logs.
You may want to bone up on the regs, just to be familiar http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/fmcsr/FmcsrGuideDetails.aspx?menukey=395 Been a few years since I've done it.Working Class Patriot Thanks this. -
Thanks....It's been awhile since I ran without having to log...
If this goes through (We're hammering out insurance right now) I don't what I'm gonna do working so close to home again.....

On the instances that you do have to go over the hundred mile radius, you only have to keep a log for that day.
-
Enjoy that time at the house.

i drove for coca cola and we had to fill out a drivers exempt logbook.if we worked more than 12 hours that day we had to do to graph logbook. also you have to keep in possession record of past 7 days. company kept record up to 3 months for dot audit.

Congratulations, Ron! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

if you work over 12. then you have to do a log. you get 1/2 hr for pre and post inspection. 1/2 hr for lunch. leaving you 11 to drive.
your confined to 60 hours 7 days.
don't know about the 7 days thing though. never had to keep a record in the truck. but the company does keep the time cards. don't know how long though.
you all keep talking about 100 miles. when i got pulled into scale for a fix it ticket on windshield. they said it was 150 mile radius
that was 6 years ago -
Perhaps you should read the regs, as you are incorrect.
-
yep, according to you. i would be incorrect at EVERYTHING.
sorry about your luck. but any local company would tell you otherwise.
