Being that my rig is a 22wheeler, this may be the wrong board;) but I was just wondering which style of Logging trailer most guys prefer. Where I come form, NW Ontario originaly, for hauling 8-9 foot logs most, and I do mean most haul crossways(rail trailer). But it seems that most other places, especially here in Manitoba every one uses shotgun trailers(I dunno why); for lenghts over 9ft obviously shotgun is required, but for 8ft, it just adds the extra weight of all the extra bunks, the extra tim required to chain down the load (2chains for rail trailers and 10 cables/straps for a 5-bunk shotgun trailer) and its harder to get your weight on with dry wood.
    Just wonderin
