No idea man. We run the east coast a fair amount.
Anyone know what I should expect when crossing into Canada at Detroit? Also how much is that toll? Thanks guys. -

You will be paying per gross weight and nothing to worry just have your Pap's done and have Entry Number ready given to you by either broker or your dispatch also have your fast card or passport ready. Customs officer at the booth will ask general questions like where are you coming from and where are you going, anything to declare and so on. Been sitting in Gainesville almost two days, they think I'm going back up to Alberta again from Beaumont but have yet to see any kind of dispatch. They got me a motel room the first night as the truck wasn't done with maintenance even though I really could have stayed in the truck. This company is good like that.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
No Canada load yet, got dh to Tulsa to pick up something for shell and take it to Houston yard, should have known, never get anything far when I'm around Dallas.

In Gainesville, got here at 9am and have been moving my equipment over to my new truck.
Was done at 1330, but then had to have someone in maintenance show me the APU controls, def info, and a few other things then had to sign off a sheet saying I understood it all.
Now I'm waiting on a load, most likely won't get anything this late on a Friday, I'm gonna wait till 430 then most likely head up to the flying j north of here. I gotta get clothes washed, get fuel, and top off my DEF. -
Back from Canada. My first and what might be my only time. Got grilled about an ARREST from 2001 that there was no deposition on. Tried contacting the local authorities about it and everything has to be done in person or by mail, but luckily the Canadian Immigration Officer was cool about it and understood the situation. She told me if I ever wanted to get back into Canada, I'd need a background check from my state showing I have a clean record. Which I do. Charges were dropped.
Then if that wasn't enough, on the way back into the states, my entry number wasn't on my trip so I had to wait until that was done which took them 3 godforsaken hours to finally let me go.
Total time at customs and immigration, 5-1/2 hours.
Oh and why is Tim Horton so popular? Just run of the mill if you ask me. -
In Tulsa at the flying J, was told I could pickup my pre loaded trailer after 1800, seeing as I wouldn't get there till 2200 anyway. So I show up at 2230, gates locked and after 45 minutes of trying to call security, I have up and decided o come to the flying j. This place is always packed, luckily a guy was leaving after I circled the parking lot 20 times haha. Anyway, bout to go do some laundry and take a shower. Get something to eat then hit the sheets.

Tim Hortons has an egg and bacon on a toasted bagel breakfast sandwich that is killer! Other than that though I can't see why they're so popular either, coffee is good as well. You have to take that load to Merlin, ON? From Hutchinson, KS? If so I just got the same load. Pretty weak for a Canada load imo, looks like only a hundred or so miles in from Detroit. As for the customs issue I've heard from several people that it's all in the person that you deal with. Luck of the draw so to speak.
