Thats basically 7 weeks out. So is that by choice or is that a norm with lst? I have no problem with staying out and i have been out 8 weeks straight when i was a lease purchase puck. But that seems a bit much for a company guy?

Just curious and i know it varies with miles but what is the avg pay per week? I now normally bring in between $900 to $1250 per week hauling oil and i am home every night. But i miss the otr and i want some flatbed experience. So i am torn between staying where i am and going to lst. I am saving to buy my own truck next year. But i do not want to go to lst and stay out 6 to 8 weeks and make the same money? I appreciate the feedback!

I just started with LST, I haven't been paid yet so I can't comment in how much you'll make, but home time will depend on where you live. I live in Florida, I'll be out 8-9 weeks then go home for a few days. I was told to expect to be out a minimum of two months because of where I live. That's from my dispatcher, I don't have a problem with it. I missed OTR too which is why Im back out here, and I missed flatbed. I know one thing, once you get up in the ranks here you will make good money. As a company driver your paid twice a month instead of every week though.

I'm going to save my money and buy a truck then lease it on, I'm in a long nose Pete and once they take that from me and put me in a brand new truck, I'll have hood fever again haha.

Regular flats, 48' spread axles, 48' tri axles, 53' spread axles.

Step decks, RGNs, stretch trailers, and about 8-10 other kind I've never seen before. I've seen some up to 12 axles, possibly more.

They do a lot of heavy haul and oversize.

That's purely by choice. I like to be home when I can see my son, which is usually holidays, so that's when I shoot for.

You can easily bring home $1200 a week. All depends on how badly you want to hustle and if permits go fairly smoothly. Dispatchers can have a say in that too, but if you're running and running good, no dispatcher will intentionally get in the way.

well put down 680 today and finna kick this cat stuff off in Clayton, NC early am then head over to Goose Creek, SC for some aluminum ingots going back to south Texas. Won't be able to get that off till day after Memorial day, ok since I'm gonna have to stop and get the APU serviced somewhere anyway.

Finally got loaded, 7 hours of waiting I'm Rotan, TX I got loaded and drove a whole 35 miles down to Sweetwater. Staying at the loves tonight, was supposed to deliver at 730 tomorrow, looking more like 1230. Sent in a message to dispatch about it, no reply yet, hopefully it'll be alright...

Anyway. I'm waiting in a shower, might as well grab some Arby's

I picked up my Keen load yesterday and was rolling by 0900... delivered today at noon and offloaded by 1430. Sat around until 1530 when I was called and told to deadhead home for the weekend. I managed to score 6 days off this time around as I told my DM I would prefer not to be on anyone elses board.. they just don't seem to care about us if we're not their driver.. so he gave me that extra day, and I come back the day he comes back. Not too shabby. I'll be out until Aug 3rd once I leave on Wednesday... we're busiest during the summer so I plan to optimize my pay.. take a weeks vac ation from Aug 3-12... stay out until Thanksgiving, take those 4 days off... work until Xmas... then take a weeks vacation to head up to Detroit for the holiday. Yes, its alot of time away from home but, personally, I prefer to be away. Some don't like it... I prefer it. A weird system for some.. but ya just gotta choose your path your happiest with.

As for pay.. we get paid on the 10th and 25th... so everything from the 1st to the 15th goes on the 25th and so on. If i'm out and not expecting hometime I average NET.... anywhere from 1700 to 2100 depending on how well I run. During the winter its a bit lower because of curfew times... but even then its still around 1700. However, with the HOS 70/34 thing changing I'm expecting it to drop because of the max 70 hours in a 7 day period. So i'll be running no more than 9 hours a day MAX.
