This T/A in North Bend, WA is a ###########. Thankfully, I reserved a spot. I got here at 1:30 local time and there was not a spot to be found. In fact, there were quite a few guys who made their spots here. Anyways, I'm looking to try to get into Seattle proper.

Seattle is not at all truck friendly, if you find a way let me know.
-
I tried, but only way to go was by cab and the lowest quote I got was $60 from where I am. Not worth it to me honestly to spend ~$120 just to see the city.
-
dang! but seeing as youre on the outskirts there maybe not too bad but more than I'd spend as well. As for news here just did blade training today but don't think I'll be going on a project anytime soon, unfortunate as there is a lot of steps to breaking those trailers down.

Kristen wants me to do blade training in July when I hit the 6 month mark on being a Level 2. I'm hearing there's a lot of guys wanting to do blades this year and not enough blade work...YET.

So I saw three of your trucks in the Loves in Bloomington MO last night. Do you guys do a lot of running together out on the roads?

It varies. If there's a project occurring, then it's very likely we will. Or say a lot of loads coming out of one shipper going to one receiver then it's a good chance of that happening. For instance, I, along with 7 other drivers, got a load of structured steel going to Minnesota. We all delivered the same day and all took our break at the same truck stop 45 minutes from the receiver. Next morning we all staggered out to the receiver 2-3 at a time.
It varies greatly. Some guys don't like to run with other drivers. Some guys prefer it. We are not allowed to run closer than 1/2 a mile usually when doing permit loads in most states.
Freight is super hot right now. This month I've done 11,938 paid miles with the load I deliver tomorrow in Midland. Then to Ft. Worth to pickup a drop going to NC. I understand they're asking drivers to delay home time to handle the freight load. I've been out since April 21st, so I'm going home in mid-June like I had asked. Hoping when I get back that I can get trained on the blade trailers. -
Like DJ said it varies, I'm rolling with another driver right now though, we loaded the same oversize load in PA going to Midland, TX so we said why not, I'd met him once before as well. Gonna break out the grill Saturday night.Last edited: May 30, 2014
wulfman75 Thanks this. -
Coils of plastic pipe out of Oaks? Those are a treat, if that's what ya got.
Well, the other driver didn't make it to Ft. Worth so I had to head to Laredo to get my load. I've been on recycled hours for awhile now and I wouldn't have made the Monday delivery so I'm resetting in Brookshire, TX. May lose my preplan but that's not a problem. -
Hey fellows, just coming on to LS, tomorrow is my orientation @ the motel here in Gainesville now so just dropping by.. Is there any other people doing orientation tomorrow?
