I have an old Mossberg 20 gauge that I use to hunt quail with that I'm buying a shorter barrel and the shockwave grips to put on it. Figured I would keep it in the pocket on the back of the passenger seat unloaded and keep the shells in the overhead. My regular lanes are on the left coast.

Black powder pistols are not classified as firearms so better chance of avoiding prosecution if caught with it somewhere firearm unfriendly.
Sure you only get two chances to hit your attacker, but if you miss the smoke from the blast will blind them long enough for you to escape.
