Nobody here mentioned locations, which is just as important as anything else.
    Good market vs bad market.
    Weight of load.
    Appointment times.
Heavy and mountains = High fuel bills.

Miles and a rate per mile is just one of many factors in figuring out if load is worth it.

I don’t look at rpm, i concern myself with daily revenue. When bidding for work, i need to know how much time i will have invested, what it will cost me to perform the job, what equipment does the job require, is there an ability to double or triple up on the work in the same day/week.

Most if not all of my work is out and back, if it’s not i bid high enough to cover the return trip. So even if i run Philly to Miami and you only have one way freight, i’m billing both ways. I don’t go that far to much anymore, and when i do it’s for long time loyal customers who would rather pay me than gamble on whatever flip flop wearing knuckle head a broker will send them.

To the Op, if you were offered 3 back to back loads, all d&h, 150mi round trip (all trailers ready when you get there, so no waiting around.), work can be completed in ten hours, pays $500/load.
    Or…

One load, 420 miles, $80tolls, pre loaded, live unload (at receiver for less than 45minutes), can be done in 8-8.5hrs if you hustle, pays $1250.

    What one do you take?

    Rideandrepair and edmachi Thank this.
