Nothin heals the soul quite like a late night flights burning cow truck lights. I miss the nogales circle we used to make usually 8 to 10 of running together heel ta toe. She's gettin older but still does her part

It doesn't matter to me what you drive as long as you're making a living....cuz that's what I 've been out here all this time doing&imho a Driver can Drive Anything so it should really be what works for you....and no matter how much things change they always remain the same.....Ford 's vs Chevy lol......and there ain't nothing you can do with a short wb setback you can't do w/a hood....and for the record I do otr reefer ltl....to every big city ####hole grocery whse etc....w/a 285"wb...379&either a 53' tandem or 54' spread....depending on the run&do jus fine....and I'm only one of many matter many.....;)

10 years ago I would have called BS on this statement. I drove a T800 215 wheelbase that got around real good. I then got a new 379 119 233" wheelbase 4 axle, I swear it would go anywhere the T8 would.

I am a bit biased, but I find my 379 regular hood easier to drive than the drop nosed Volvos I drove in school. With the Pete, I know exactly where my front bumper is.

If everything is working properly raising the hood on anything should not be a problem. Unless maybe you only weigh 105 lbs...... :)

    Ruthless Thanks this.

The company I work for has a 2007 International day cab, to me it is like driving a Cabover since I really don't see the hood. First truck I ever bought was in 1987, 1973 K100, I learned to drive it the old fashion way. And it was factory Armstrong steering, that will help build your calluses :).

Saw a flat top Pete pulling a 48ft step. Had to be over 300 inch wb. White Pete, low to the ground, fiberglass double hump fenders over the drives, tall shifter. Young kid driving it. His 2nd truck and he's 25. Got that Pride in that Ride. I love to see a young hand take pride in the job. It's good for the business. It's good for the industry.
