I'm not sure of your implication but I might suggest the idea is to conserve On Duty time [so as to conserve 70 hour time]. If it helps to work towards an 8/2 split sleeper then all the better.

Then again it should not even be a thought other than a certain amount of fuel necessary to sleep the driver nice and comfortable even in the worst of weather or the barest of docks.
When I am in a dock, it's time to work. Its very difficult to enter a mindset that it's time to unload and go to sleep as in relax and sleep. Sleep is hard to come by when it's time to work now. Does that even make sense of this babble I am writing??
