2020, the interstates are a cakewalk. 20 years ago, there were signs set up telling everyone not to go past Green River,Utah without fueling. 30 years ago, you didn't go past ElPasoTX or TucsonAZ without fueling. In those days, well before the internet and smart phones, if you ran out of fuel or broke down, you would find yourself third down from the top of the food chain.

    "So Six, you are saying..."

Yes, in the maps, road atlases and signs on the interstate there were warnings: DO NOT GO PAST GREEN RIVER UTAH WITHOUT FUELING. Or in the case of I-10, "Next exit with services 254 miles." Speed limit was 55 and there's no nothing for 254 miles. Does that even make sense?

Kansas Turnpike/I-35 between El Dorado and Emporia.

The KTA in general is pretty desolate, but that 52 mile stretch sticks out with just one exit and a service area. Amazing scenery though.
