I have got 200,000 each on the last two sets of steers Continental HSL2 eco plus. Their drives however disappointed me and only got 200,000 there.

yup..... 2006 volvo 780 with air ride. check air psi. everyday, check (look) tire wear at each fuel stop, check tire wear with tire depth gauge every monday (if it off by 1/32 time for a alignment), centramatic wheel balancers, new shocks and alignment when i change steers,

The centramatics job is to balance the whole assembly. The tire salesman wanted to balance my tires and wheels. I told him that is why I bought the centramatics. The tire man that's works on them all the time told me that I was right and the sales guy was just trying to jack up his commission. What did help is the centering nuts with the sleeves. Had a minor wheel wobble it is gone. The alignment guy and the tire
guy both recommended the centering nuts.

I got 220,000 out of my last set of Michelin XZA3+ steers. They still had 8-1032nds, but I got $150 casing credit and good deal on a new set. A 2 for the price of 1 kind of deal once it was all done. 128,000 on this set and they look great. Will easily bust the mileage I got out of the last set and may go longer unless I get the same deal as last time.

My wide based Michelin Xone XDN2 tires, installed at the factory, now have 348,000 on them and still 14/32nd tread life left. Wearing great.

I run balance masters on the steers and beads in the drives.

All of this running a fair amount of two lane along with normal 4 lane stuff, and hauling a lot of bulk product that puts me between 77,000 and 80,000 gross. And the best part.... on one of those nasty, good for nothing Freightliner Columbia trucks (regular spring suspension up front, air ride in back) that everyone thinks is junk! This can be so much fun sometimes.

Wow. Do you think Michelin should get the credit or the fact the drives are continually balanced ??

Well, as in all things, it is a bunch of things that go into it. Watching the tire pressures closely, no over inflating or under inflating, balancing the tires, rotating them on a regular basis, driving properly (I did not say like grandma or Prime, so don't go there some of you guys), etc. Michelin makes a great tire. Done right, they will last a good long time and worth the higher price. It might help that I made sure and spec'd Conmet Preset Plus hubs. Those bring out the best in an axle. The steer is a Detroit axle, the drives are Meritor 14x with full lockers.

really the tire you have is the worst fuel millage wide single Michelin makes...... i had a company truck that had X one XDA when that company had to change them they went with the X One XDN2 and the millage went down .6 mpg....... when you change them go to the Michelin X One Energy D they will wear about the same BUT you'll get .4-.6 mpg better fuel millage.
