I'm looking at a 2016 780. It was used for enclosed high end car hauling.
It has 505,000 miles on it, but it has 23210 engine hrs. I assume the truck had a pto for the trailer, and the extra is running that. Question is, is that too many hours on a d13?
Are pto hours better than basic idle hours? Should I run? Truck is really clean, has extensive history, definetly has not been a problem child, one company owned, he says 2 drivers. Price is right, it will be my last truck, I'd like to have a 780 again, very comfortable and quiet.
Thanks!

Uhhhh that is an insane number of hours. My truck with 820k miles only has 17k hours on it and its a pto truck running end dump.

I don't c different pto vs idle hours ... unless it was on high idle ... not sure about these newer trucks with def and dpf .. whenever my truck idles - its always at 1000rpm ( even if its 15 min fuel up ) ... talking about 1999 cat

Not sure about the d13 but my d12 has 1,396,,000 miles and 34,000 hours idle time. All low idle..

My 2012 D11 has 24,000 hours and my last used oil analysis the wear metals were all below avg and looking great... does the history indicate how long they went on oil changes? In my opinion the recommended standard service from volvo is crazy long. If I knew they were more reasonable with their oil change interval and the price is right I wouldn't worry to much about the hours to be honest. I have had a few issues since getting my truck(i think it had around 19,000 hrs when i got it) The most invasive thing I have had to do is a set of injectors and new air compressor.
