I have an 09 D13 and when I bought it 2 1/2 years ago I told them to turn it up to 485. I have no complaints about that. It can hold its own on a hill.

I drove a 2009 Volvo d13 that had a bad habit of dropping injectors. I moved in @200k miles and it was on the 3rd set (all warranty) and it would drop another set before 300k miles. This was apparently a known problem. Also, the DPF would not reach temperatures sufficient to fully regen in the cold and was replaced before 300k. Quit that job not long after.

i drove a brand new 2012 Pete 384 (slightly shorter 386 with DEF tank on the wrong side) with PACCAR MX and it threw random aftertreatment codes for about a month before it died on the road one day at 250k miles. He we out the SCR pump wasn't working right and the DPF got full and it was too cold for it to regen and by then it was full and wouldn't attempt it. Roadside kiddo came and initiated a regen through the laptop, which took 3 hours and belched out black smoke for about an hour of it. Then DPF was replaced.

Swapped into brand new PacLease 2014 Pete 386 on a maintenance plan with 450 Cummins ISX. That truck ran great for about 100k miles and then it started throwing codes. It went to Pete dealer every weekend and they couldnt sort it out. Spent 8 days every month in the shop and one day I came out from lunch and she was downgraded to 5mph and had to be towed to KW dealer. KW said the DEF injector was all clogged up and the DPF wasn't getting hot enough to regen. They wanted to replace injector and wiring, but PacLease wouldn't allow it. They hooked the laptop up, did a regen which took a few hours and have me the keys back. I quit this job about 3 weeks later.

Next was a Ryder leased 2013 Cascadia with DD15 I inherited with 190k and an active check engine light for the aftertreatment system. It spent every day off where I was home (8-10 month) in the shop for 8 months. They replaced the entire DEF system minus the tank and all the wiring associated. It ran 3 weeks without a code and de-rate (that was her record) and then they found that the DPF was full because it wasnt getting hot enough in winter to regen. They replaced the DPF along with another DEF injector and that was when I got my blessed 3 weeks. I took it home for the first time, because it was finally not In The shop on my days off. I swapped it out and the same codes were lit up when the new driver took it at 350k miles.

Been in my current machine for 2 weeks (Ryder lease 2014 Cascadia DD15) we've done 11k miles and no engine codes (yet). No doubt there will soon be SCR issues and then the DPF will be clogged because it can't get up 1000 degrees when it's not warm out.
