The $1.51 average is your gross average? In other words YOUR total percentage cut of the line haul plus the Fuel Surcharge correct?
-
All of the ltl companies pay within a penny or two of each other. Old dominion, r&l, saia, etc. 77 cpm seems to be average for linehaul team.
-
From what I've seen, Old Dominion, Estes, and UPS are paying in the .70s for teams. I don't think that's the starting rate, though. There's some threads here about ODFL drivers making 100k per year each, but they stayed out and ran hard. They're old threads as well, so I'm guessing pay has gone up a few cpm since then.
-
My wife and I teamed at OD. now the top pay tier is .78-.80. We didn't run hard and we did over 100k each.
Be that as it may, we arelooking t UPS Freight O/O. from the numbers I'm running, we will make less with one truck, but SUBSTANTIALLY more with 2+. Our goal is fleet ownership. I love driving, but I'm about ready for entrepreneurship againloudtom Thanks this. -
What are they paying? I thought it was in the neighborhood of 1.50 a mile. At that rate there is no way to make money.BigHossVolvo and Eldiablo Thank this.

Well if you single pulled RVs with a dually for any length of time you know what a rat race running your own truck on shoestring money can be if you ain’t careful.
If you’re single and ain’t got nothing to lose but the shirt off your back, sure, go buy your 6NZ Pete and pull Forward Air trailers for $1.35 all in. Otherwise I think that is probably too much truck to start out with and otherwise a bad idea. Those go for big money and get worse MPG. I found a sweet older Volvo for $22k just a couple weeks ago on truck paper being sold by the original owner and you can tell this guy didn’t cut corners on his ride. Premium virgin rubber, 13 speed, fancy aluminum cow smasher on the front. 500k original miles. You could put a 53ft Shipshewanna trailer behind something like that and make $2.25-2.75/mi moving RV loads to the dealers for Horizon Transport or one of the others. There are better ideas than moving trailers around for FAF or Amazon for cheap rates. -
does faf have a minimum on truck age. or can i bring a 2006 there.
-
I don't think so but if it's 5yrs or newer they pay an additional .02cpm all miles to the truck.
