Add smart phones with huge accounts tied to them.
We are absolutely destitute as a Nation. But any third world village would kill to have drinkable water. The way things are going we will become a third world banana republic. Once our money system is excessively worthless on paper. It wont be the first time.
As for the complaints It is easier to count the few people left in the trucking industry after only a few years. For every 100 who wanna drive a big rig, about 30 are still doing that in 5 years. and maybe half that in 10 years plus. #### few make it a life time.
If our military ran on such BS we would not have a valid military anymore. But yet anyone can drive a truck, until they are either run into the ground, wrecked and then fired or manage to make it long enough to be accepted for a while. Until something comes up and they quit or fired.
Firing is so common in trucking. My parents preached in the old school thinking like retirements, pension, 401k etc etc etc. All of that went away in disposable employee. And eventually our industrial base was exported overseas to cut costs in favor of a coffee shop and fast food plus cell stores and parasitical big box type businesses capable of extracting the wealth from the people.
We opened up a 5th dollar store in our area, it is easier to spend a dollar on a bag of chips there (And get more generic chips) than it is to spend 4.00 at the walmart. Guess how many trucks are needed to run the Dollar freight. Many more than Walmart could handle.

No i have been in this industry since 1993, and around it all my life. I see all these drivers complaining about these companies they work for or use to work for. If they, or anyone is so unhappy with the industry. Stop #####ing, and McDonalds is hiring. Pop ones head out of their rear end, put on their big girl panties, grow up, and before complaining about everything. Use that technology you have and do research into the many sources available to do the research.
I am not broke, homeless, or such. I own a very successful trucking company, but see these people unhappy with the company they are working for.Streetroddreams, Just passing by, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
I would do that but I enjoy complaining to you all better.
Puppage, austinmike, Sirscrapntruckalot and 4 others Thank this. -
Grow up, pull up your panties and get a grip. This industry is no better in the inter workings as any other. Stop complaining and move on. There is my point. If you have been in this industry over a couple years. Than you should have the brains to know the way it will work for your entire career.jethro712, driverdriver, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this.

So you're just preaching to the choir is that it at the 40 years I know what I'm doing

I've preached this so many times on this forum. You leave a "normal" life to enter the world of trucking. Your first night on the highway at dinnertime (especially when you're along some homes and you see families watching the 6 pm news) hit s home. Then a crowded truck stop jockeying for a spot maybe a shower, lots of noise going on. Hey wait, I miss my comfy bed at home ! Right ? Next day same stuff. And again and again. The traffic, construction, security guards, rude office people, police agencies, dispatchers, homeless bums on and on. That warehouse job you quit looks pretty good right ?

Due to those whom no nothing about me, and that they stated i was new to this industry. Don't be jealous. I am just making a point, that if your going to complain about your situation, either find a different career, or stop b----ing about the one you are in.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
I was merely making a valid point, as it is funny that so many are so unhappy, but continue to complain about it, and do nothing to change the situation in a positive manner. This industry is not for everyone, and if it is not one's cup of tea. No one is holding them prisoner to this industry. We all have seen good and bad times with the industry, and companies. This is not an industry where you will get rich, but in most cases barely break even.
Streetroddreams, nightgunner and x1Heavy Thank this.
