looking for a authority to run under

I do know some guys here in town that charge 20. But hauling grain, no one could pay 20 because it is a very low paying job.

 

And that is why I refuse to be the boss

 

Because ins on new authority is 25 to 30 k as opposed to 11k. Then of course you have the initial safety inspection blah blah . Got to be good at keeping them rules and papers right.
But all that is already going on for anyone with authority. It plays no real role in a lease on. Other than making sure logs are good.
So for say 20 to 30k a year , you would not send in 3 pieces of paper to 10 brokers 1 time each and check logs and send an invoice for payment ? Hell I'd even do the invoicing .

 

Only if you are good at office work. Them inspections can be brutal. They gave a guy I worked for a 1200 fine for not having proper paperwork on a case of grease. Needs case lot number, price of case, price of each tube, what truck/trailer each was used on .... Some inspectors are jerks.
I'm the world's worst paper work guy. I could never do my own authority.
But to your point on easy, a o/o leased on to do nothing but use authority is not the same as a company driver or a normal lease on driver.

 

You are just a bad attitude jerk obviously.
I can find thousands of people that want to make good money for a small amount of paperwork. Maybe you have a problem with hiring drivers that hurt your operation. That ain't me.

By the way , I missed part of this, company did not go broke. It is just fine. I'm not their employee or lease on driver.
They owe me because they tried to pull something over on me. Said broker did not pay when he did. They got my money. Dishonesty? I dont know for sure. Maybe just overlooked 3 deposits from payment service. But any way I'm having problems getting loads because of carrier packs not being sent back completed. I can't operate if broker can't give me loads. I managed 2 loads in two weeks because of this. Also was given a fake rate con and sent on a wild goose chase. Ate hundreds in fuel. Why ? I don't know but shipper had no clue why I was there with a load number they don't use for a load they knew nothing about.
Figure that out.
I only use their authority. They don't book loads for me. They don't pay my insurance or work on my truck etc...
In return I make sure my end is up to par so they don't get hit for my log books etc.
