You could try Roehl 14/7. Some options in our area for more hometime are flatbed( Cypress, Sunbelt, CT) and you could try CCC(Comcar). Daycabs hauling beer around. Good luck.

Try Pritchett in Lake Butler, see if you can get on with their frameless division dispatched by Robert Rowell. I can tell you that your earning expectations are high and you won't see that at Pritchett, but you will be paid fairly and work for good people.

I worked there for nearly 4 years, all local, and consistently made over 40K yearly. Frameless divison mainly runs southeast but they will stretch you out to the midwest and northeast now and again, and even have some drivers that run out to Colorado. They're typically on a 2 week dispatch but a lot of the drivers do see weekend hometime, they've grown that fleet nearly double in size in the last 3 years so they're doing something right, and Robert the dispatcher is a class act.

Get in touch with Roy Crews in HR 800-486-7504 and see if he can point you in a direction, tell him Zach from Tallahassee sent you.

    NSBGearjammer Thanks this.

Look into the expedited field,T/T drivers in expedited can earn $900-$1200 a week easy.Try Panther or Fedex CC only thing is you gotta find a fleet owner who sign with one of them and more likely you will have to team up with someone. Also if your willing do some labor, look into moving companies like Mayflower,my brother drove for them and made $1200-$1500 a week but there a lot of hard labor tho.

Trucking temp staffing agencies tend to have consistant work. Quality driver solutions. Labor ready. Pirate staffing. Road dog staffing. Most pay $15-$16 an hour. I go to these if i'm inbetween jobs. I also hustle the local news papers and sometimes find o/o's looking for drivers. I'll make a quick buck then jump to something better. With the way things are right now, trucking is not paying much. Then the survival mode kicks in, ya know?

I've made some of my best money working temp with a local company.

But, it always leads to disappointment in the long run. Because I can't get on full time. Or the company is closing down, and just using me to help with the shut down.

Wow...I figured that I would check in here. I am on my wives laptop and it keeps crashing...bad hard drive. I know I am expecting miracles but the situation on the home front is my wife is not working now and the state is not giving rejected her food card so now I have to pay for everything now plus I have to save up money so we can move but I also have to get my credit in check. Like I said I don't mind being out on the road but I have 2 boys that just don't seem to mind my wife and they get a little out of hand they are young and they need me around more. I have seen one company out there...I forgot who it was that paid .40 to .50 cpm. So I know that they are around...But like I said I am still with Western Express but they have there truck back and they told me it was slow and it is to be expected it will start to pick up in Feb or March...I went threw the same thing with Knight. But I did not sit for 3 days with no load and then get a 1200 mile run and commit to it only to have it cancelled. Plus at the terminal they were waiting by number one driver that was a trainer and had a student with him was number 73 I think he said...That's insane. So I figured if I am going to be waiting its going to be at home. But I am looking to better myself and my family...I don't think that there is anything wrong with that.

Thanks rubberducky68 I will look into them.

And slim shady I will check out craigslist...LOL.

NSBGearjammer...I will look into Roehl as well as CCC.

Trashtrucker1265 I will check out Pritchett too.

Bigarmin88 I will check out Panther and Fedex CC. As far as the moving companies I don't mind the work but my back and knee do...lol.

Professional-Trucker I never knew about Trucking temp staffing agencies...I will look into them...I am all to familiar with the whole survival mode...been there done that many times.

Danc694u I know what you mean. I used to work for a couple of temp services when I was younger back in Illinois and its always a let down. I did get lucky once and I got hired on full time and was not a temp anymore...it did feel good.

I'm with the other guys on here, you better look local and work local for a while until you get more exp.If a co. takes you out of a truck,to me that means your done working there.I see that that's not your fault so your going to be alot better off anyway.Be sure you quit them the right way when you find another job or they're lible to ding your record and then you will have problems.Good luck

Pete3871...I told Western Express that I was going home for 3 1/2 weeks and that I would be back before 30 days if after 30 days then I have to do the whole orientation bs again. And I have heard about what Western Express does to DAC's. I still have a couple of miss overlooked pay settlements that need to get fixed that was not on my check this week. When I find work I will let them know that I found something else...It is the right and honorable thing to do.
