I was once at a gfl facility. It was a horrible place and no one new what they were doing. In my former life I ran a recycling facility and this one wa samost dangerous.

Sorry never finished the post. RSB in Saskatoon is looking for drivers. They have drivers from all over. Equipment is all on a full service lease. Thay get unprocessed Uranium and haul it to Blind River. Easy hauling. They have contacts for back hauls
They have a small division in Kentucky. You can be out for 2 to 3 weeks
Then they you a load to your home town. Trailers are kept at different yards. If you live not too far away you can take the truck home
Nothing over 3 years old. Call them

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

I did have a member reach out to me about some reefer work out of NS, going into the states and back up through brampton. It could be the change I'm looking for.

Last week I was off 6 days, and this week I only worked 3 days.

Tell your company you’re getting new insurance on your personal vehicle, and they said if you get an insurance letter that you drive professionally it may reduce your premiums. That’s what I did. They didn’t see it coming

After being off for a weeks vacation there’s 5 owner operators parked next to each other with all the companies decals off . I found out today that the company has laid them off/ pushed them out because it’s so slow and these guys were the ones with the least amount of miles being run . A few have been here since i stated in 2012 . If you’re leaving one job for another definition need be careful we’re you go

Yep, I'm planning on just staying however long they keep me for now. Indeed is basically dry, unless you want to run state side for 55 cents a mile.

They also axed the owner operators here, we had 6 and now we just have 1. Your company is a direct mirror of mine haha.

It sucks right now honestly. Thinking of going back to college and become a truck mechanic.

The big difference is Kriska is a mega carrier who also owns numerous other companies. If the big guys are hurting this much it really shows you how bad it is right now . I talked to a company driver this week and he said he had last week off because there wasn’t any work . i counted 8 o/o from the original 5 i quoted now being laid/let go by friday .

Honestly going back to school for diesel mechanic and not being a driver anymore would probably be one of the smartest things you could do . I thought about going to school so i could repair reefers . Not really interested in repairing trucks and trailers . just not sure where or what courses to take for reefer technician. i also thought about getting a job with a city or town doing things like cutting grass, road maintenance and so

Mb highways as a plow operator, mb hydro driving truck, lots of options. Reefer repair is a great idea, but your mobile 24/7, unless you want to work in a shop. I know the mobile guys get big money because companies need a loaded reefer fixed now and will pay anything.
