Those Kag fuel jobs out of Mississauga go fast and just checking on indeed only hiring out of brockville right now . We had two night shift guys here get fired . One was because of me i was training a new guy who apparently had experience. He came from bison but on the way back from prescott he was falling asleep at the wheel. He kept going from the right to the left lane and almost drove into a box truck in the middle lane. I called safety the next morning and then i come in tuesday afternoon and the safety guy in mississauga wants me to train him again. Which number 1 i’m not even a trainner , i was just helping them out and two i told them i don’t feel safe driving with that guy . The other guy who has been here 2 months was coming back from prescott and bounced off a concrete barrier and never stopped. they have him on the dash camera hitting the wall . he comes back to the Mississauga yard parks it at the shop and goes home . never says a word to anyone. Apparently they have to cut the wheel studs off just to take the front wheel off and they said if he drove another 5 miles the whole axle would have fallen apart . This guy also ripped a door off while training and fall off his truck at a customer and did some damage to his head . I heard 5-15 k to fix the truck and because it’s a older truck with like 800.000 i’m will just write it off
Looking for a change

Canadianhauler21 and '88K100 Thank this. -
KAG is a US company trying to operate like they do in the US.
What would be the point of living if you are in a truck 6 weeks at a time,,not like KAG has any nice equipment,,not equipped any better than a typical line haul truck.Canadianhauler21 and upnorthwpg Thank this. -
I’ve never seen kag advertise for a job like op mentioned. only thing close was 6 days on 3 off but you have to stay in the truck the whole time . Basically you’re a otr tanker driver . no way in hell i would do 6 weeks on and 2 off . It’s bad enough with the mega carriers that do 5 day’s running and only 1 day off like schneider did when i worked there .
i thought Kag had decent equipment for a mega carrier , mostly new looking mack Anthems and newer looking trailers . No idea what there maintenance program is like throughCanadianhauler21 Thanks this. -
This was what they sent me, its for a company driver position. It could be a good change switching to fuel hauling but 6 weeks on is brutal.

From what I've seen on indeed, there aren't many megas or any hiring at the moment. Midland is hiring I believe but that's pretty much it.

Everyone has put the pause button on. We’re short a couple drivers, they are having some guys do 2 runs for now to cover things.Canadianhauler21 Thanks this.

I’ve heard Midland has driver facing cameras if you don’t want that.Canadianhauler21 Thanks this.

not a lot of decent companies hiring that’s for sure , i’ve applied to Aim hauling scrap but you have to know how to drive a 18 speed . I drive a 13 spd everyday so it’s not much different. definitely weird times we are living in now when truck drivers can’t get jobs . I mean everything is moved by trucks and you would think there would always be a need for drivers

Sorry to hear about your troubles Canadianhauler21. I hope things turn around for you quickly. As a new driver I had applied to several companies in the spring, only one bothered to say no. I do snow removal in the winter time, the hours are sh##ty sometimes, but it keeps the mortgage paid. Some of the bigger highway contracted companies would be looking to line up experienced operators earlier before the season starts. Best of luck
