KAG had some fly in/fly out jobs that were 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off. The work was out of Brandon, MB and Edmonton, AB.

Seems a little strange that their schedule in Ontario would be 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Their fuel drivers typically operate on a 5 on, 2 off, then 5 on 3 off schedule with the work being local and regional.

Can’t see why they’d need to operate on a 6 week on, 2 week off schedule for anything other than campaign hauls.

This is what was posted in the ad. It says retail fuel delivery, I'm assuming its probably to gas stations. Fly in and fly out jobs seem pretty alright though.

I'm on the fence over all, it could be the change I need. But at the same time my wife used to complain when I was home once a week, I couldn't imagine 6 weeks.

Best of luck to you too man, I'd probably say now is the worst time to be a new driver. When I started, mega carriers were hiring everywhere. The companies that would hire you are probably not the ones that you want to be working for.

I am out here doing uber everyday for the time being. Strangely it's not that bad but not something to do long term. Still on the hunt for work, nobody is hiring drivers right now. Just some work for USA by sketchy Brampton companies.

    How's your search going?

Still construction for now, the boss made me a pretty strong offer, I only manage now. I will help the guys out from time to time, can’t do most of the things that I used to though. I am not missing climbing up three or four floors of scaffolding with rig and tools either. It’s different, I am a confident and competent carpenter, I am an unsure manager that is learning as I go. Boss insisted that when/if I do begin trucking, the truck will have the same name on the door. “I don’t want you going anywhere else, whose going to fix all my stuff?”

With fall coming it could be a good time to checkout snow removal companies, that would work around uber and is usually contract not hourly. If they stay hourly and there is no snow the operators will leave. Best of luck!
