Hi there, I've been on this forum for awhile and working temp jobs for the last 3-4 years and I'm tired of them and need to start on my career not just another job. I wanted to see if anyone in the raleigh NC area had taken classes and where you took them and your experiences where, one of my friends went to road masters in dunn and he's got a good driving job (I think he does flatbed work) but I'm just in need of starting a career. I want to thank all all you for your help and have a great day
Looking for a good training class in Raleigh NC

Google _ WIOA Program North Carolina
This program will pay for cdl school and probably at a community college. Roadmasters is too expensive.
Check Millis Transfer. They have a school in Eden and you only need $500.00 and only the first $100.00 upfront.
Prepare now; you will need:
original birth certificate
original social security card (not laminated)
More and more companies are now doing hair follicle drug tests + urine tests. -
I have to order a new birth certificate, it some how got lost betweens moving. I do have my original ssc though I will check this company out and their birth certificate needs, thank you Chinatown. I was looking at roadmasters anc my friend said it cost him around 5k, JCC on the other hand is only 1100. Though its more than 500 i might not qualify if i do jot have my original birth certificate

Order a new birth certificate and then you'll be ready to roll. Very few people can find their birth certificate laying around in their house.
Roehl Transport has a pretty good plan also. They pay you $500.00 weekly while in their school plus lodging and meals.
With Millis you will graduate with a NC cdl and with Roehl you will graduate with a cdl from whichever state they send you to for school, then you return to NC DMV and change your cdl to a NC one. -
JCC in Smithfield NC , is a great choice ! One of the oldest trucking schools around. Also one of the best too.
ncmickey Thanks this. -
did you attend there? If so how was the student instructor ratio?

No sir , I do know several who did. And to a person , they said it was the best choice for them. They have been training drivers since 1949 , so I believe they've got it down pretty good. They'd sure be worth a close look.ncmickey Thanks this.

JCC in Smithfield is one of best schools in state. Took my refresher course there. Oldest truck driver school in NC I think. EPES in Greensboro hires from his school. They're not a bad starter company. Good equipment home every week.
ncmickey and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
I went to JCC in Oct-Dec 2013... awesome school. Oldest trucking school in the USA. Very in depth program. Not a CDL Mill.
Any questions, just ask. -
JCC is a good school. Superior Carriers just started hiring out of there. I have been there a couple of time with my boss to talk about the company.
