So you could have stopped but chose to rear end another flatbed because you thought the car behind you might not stop in time? I am sorry but i dont think there is a single veteran driver out here that thinks like that. Hopefully there is not another trucker on the road taught to do this. This is extremely flawed and dangerous thinking. Sir that thinking scares the **** out of me.
If you tell this story to future employers the way i interpreted it , i think you might be looking awhile.

I don't believe he was saying his 44 years exp. was truck driving. that said, hopefuly you learned that it's more important to avoid the rear end in front of you, than worrying about the rear end behind you.
-
If it's there I'll grab an exit to avoid those that like to huddle like cars do. if no exit slow down and let it pass. a pull out can work too.

If this accident happened on I40 mile marker 35 in Tn. I was there. He Hit the back end of a 48 ft box. The steering wheel cut him in half. -
He well have been driving 44 years. Some of the most aggressoive, impatient, unprofessional, and asinine drivers I have met out here all claimed to be driving since Jesus was on the planet.
All 3 times that I have been rear ended was by 20+ year owner ops.
Experience doesn't mean the you're immune to complacency or arrogance.
Mistakes happenscottlav46 and tinytim Thank this. -
My point being, though, is that a lot of people on Craigslist do no background check, or any check, of any sort, beyond an interview.
Lots of these people run crumby companies, but sometimes, you get lucky, and the company is only as bad as you are.bottomdumpin Thanks this. -
