Not to mention they won't put singles on a step.

Why no super singles on a step?

I tried getting them on mine and they told me they couldn't/wouldn't do it, I have super single drives and I like them. Basically weight savings is the only thing they're good for unless you've got 1000 trucks pulling boxes you'll see some fuel mileage

But as far as the OP posted about a light weight step, I'd defiantly go with a 48' East, I do not care for the hellacious positive bow in ALL aluminum trailers. I haul a lot light stacked up I'd be 13'6" on the neck 14' in the middle and 13'6" over the spread. East also has J Hooks like Reitnours.

Our 2013 Reitnouer big bubba 53ft steps weigh 10,400. Our Talbert 2000 combo 48ft step weighs 10,200. IF you are going to get a combo make sure it has aluminum cross members. They will save you about 1,000 pounds.

I have never seen a super single that has a low enough profile to work on a step.
