I would use fresh lmr coax with amphonol ends,a tri mag mount(assumeing the roof is metal)and use almost any antenna you like..Centered on the roof that is..If its fibreglass roof...Get a big sheet of alumium under your interior and then do a perminate ant mount in roof center...If its not yours i dont know..Totired to think any more..

I'd like reputable as in I could ask for a radio check driving through the panhandle of TX and get a come back from somebody near Cheyenne.

Without Mother Nature's help that would be kind of hard to predict but it did happen quite often when I was running Coast to Coast and twister was working for Watkins doing his local job when he was living in Cheyenne Wyoming

Ya want a wacky radio "DONT"ship it off to mark..hell if you need a radio buy a refurbished cobra or somethin then ship your good radio to mark..
