Looking for a new antenna

his antenna is working properly on his trk. he's running a predator and is expecting some kind of miracles... now when he gets the 955 back from mark his receive problems will/should end .....

 

Isn't he running one of Mark's radios in his truck right now?

 

Well counterpoise is the issue,not the antenna..

 

Nope..Had one of his in to try for a bit but it was a damaged one..never ran it long enough to really test..Didnt have rec mod either....My issues are ant not radio..I need experienced eyes n brain to go over it..

 

no mark has both his 955s the one the post office jacked up. and the one mark is going to put the amp under.....

 

dude you really really need a excellent antenna man... 4/real your situation has been going on a long long time...just saying

 

yeah I'll call mark time to time just to check up on him. make sure he's not in jail or prison for killing someone...... the last thing I say to him on the phone usually is don't kill anyone...we both laugh about it. but we both know there's some truth to it............

 

Nooo mark is keepin the jacked up one and given me a credit twards the 955 xxx...My original one is all set for shippi g..

 

Ohhhh it has...Its possible to that its just me..But i gots me doubts..I can listen to a cpl guys goin the other way and within 3-5 miles i hear static even as they are talkin the they slowly just go poof...
I noticed one thing though....If im driveing along with squelch on enough so there is no noise..I can go over an overpass or a bridge of sorts and almost every time as i go over a steel plate or a steel beam it breaks my squelch for a second..To me that sez counterpoise....It goes against the grain but in gonna switch out to a solid 18" shaft on my ant and see,then try an original 6" and see...Maybe use the metal in the door box/windshield frame as some sorta counterpoise..I HOPE

 

whatever works for ya ....all that matters
