well if it was me I'd stick a 5.5 firestik on that sucker. since its a top loaded antenna. and see how well that receives. I would run it 7 days keep the packaging if it doesn't work or perform like you want. get yer $$$ back.....

I know I know I'm smarter than the average bear... I do crap like that all the time. good way to test things out. of course you can only do that with truck stop stuff. not a love's thoughLast edited: Oct 7, 2016

his new antenna he has out called little sweetie named after his cat is supposed to actually do something on a field strength meter...

There's no such thing as a shortened antenna that is equal in performance to a 9-foot whip. Anything shorter will automatically have greater losses
-
that's a very bold statement !!!!!

Top load is always more efficient.
Browning only makes a bottom load. -
known of them are setting the receive world on a radio on fire.. top load/centerload/or a bottom loaded antenna ......most cb users don't care anyways all they want is to talk to the shipper or receiver !!!

Some of the best performing antennas are the ones that are unavailable to the public and made by hobbyists.
Hardly anything is going to outperform a $13 stainless steel whip without a loading coil unless you start getting into building multiple element arrays.
