I would have chosen a company with faster trucks; Abilene Motor Express @72 mph or Titan Transfer @70 mph. Best wishes with USX though.
Do 12 months at USX and then there's other options that make it easier to deal with reserve drills, such as line haul (Saia, Estes, Old Dominion) or foodservice such as Reinhart Foodservice or McLane Foodservice.

Good point, with all the pressures that go into being a good truck driver, meeting deadlines without breaking the law and not getting into any accidents, along with not violating company policies, it would probably be much better being solo to avoid additional pressures of having a team driver inside the truck with you.

Many times, per many truck drivers both on and off of the forum, having a team driver inside the truck can actually magnify the pressures that you will be enduring.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

You was OTR only a month that isn't enough time to even get your feet wet so to speak. You may not do any better teaming but I suggest give it s chance. There will be times you and your teammate will be sitting waiting for a load.So you need not get discouraged because this job is not consistent in miles.Anyway if you can't find someone to team with USX will find someone for you.

Solo driving was good for me. I didn't have any problems that I couldn't figure out eventually. Loads picked up and delivered on time except for one which was due to a trailer tire issue that pop while on the hwy. other than that I was good running ten hours a day saw some so cool stuff. It was the fleet managers having a hard time with getting me home and almost missing drill and then wanting me to continue to drive after I drove for 8 hours and got a migraine and wanted to shut down for the night. That's unsafe and they didn't care they were like get to customer. I believe we spoke on another thread a few days ago about the situation and I wanted to find some companies that hire out of Florida.

Oh I know how it operates. I grew up in the business. My dad is a truck driver with over 40 yrs of exp. I have waited for loads before and it's frustrating but I know that's how it operates. I think it would be fun to have someone else with me in the truck and also the potential to make more money is always appealing to everyone. Trust once my yr is up I'm going LTL. I did apply for SEF because they had a driver apprentice program opened up but I got tired of waiting and I went in to speak to a hiring manager to speed up the process and he was on vacation lol go figure. I know USX will find someone for me. I just wanted to see if anyone was interested in here.

Chinatown I'm not sure. From what I was told no. But could have been misinformed. I will have an answer for you for sure on Monday or Tuesday
